Helpful Yoga Practice Hints

If you are not flexible, Bikram Yoga is for you!

This is the most common misconception. Yoga is not how flexible you are; it's about reshaping your body and spine to increase your flexibility. The heat really aids in this process.

Discover your body, your mind and your limits.

It's the instructor's job to help you discover that limit, and to push it further and further away as your yoga practice progresses. Do only what your body tells you on any given day. This is your opportunity to learn about your mind-body connection and balance.

When in doubt, go easy. Asana means "with ease".

Push yourself as hard as you can, but at the same time respect your abilities. Patience is one of the most challenging aspects of Bikram Yoga.

Remember to breathe!

Yes, it's true: many of us will hold our breath during physical exertion, so keep breathing taking in "small sips of air".

Willingness is the key.

Ninety-five percent of your practice is just getting to the Studio. So, just show up, no compromises or negotiations!

It's the intention; not the perfection.

If life is not a challenge it is nothing. --Helen Keller
