I enjoy not only the physical benefits like being leaner, but also the mental clarity, concentration and focus on the job.
-Stephanie Massetti

Bikram has benefitted me both physically and psychologically. I am less cranky when I do my Bikram. My friends and colleagues would comment that they know when I have been "bikramless" and order me to go see Amy.
Being a dentist I am very analytical about things, and everything has to make sense. I have tried yoga classes before and have been disappointed or lost interest because the teacher never taught the meaning behind each move and the benefits that my body will recieve. I was surprised when I took my first Bikram Yoga class with Amy because she would talk about the anatomy and physiology as it relates to each of the Bikram poses and how each pose will benefit my body. The personal attention that Amy provides to her students is amazing. I especially like the fact how she will address and welcome each one of their students by name. I know that by their act of acknowledging every student by name, this opens the door for all of her students the opportunity to know each other, and join the BlueMoon community.

Thank you so much for your hospitality when I visited from St. Louis to help my father through surgery. I had such a fun experience in your studio both times and wanted to Thank You and your participants for the warm welcome I received. The lively atmosphere encouraged my to push further than I knew I could go. New to Bikram Yoga, that was so amazing and to have that energy when I went with my family to the hospital in the morning was a wonderful thing for us.

Practicing Bikram Yoga has been magical! I am a more balanced person because of it. It amazes me how my practice radiates outised the hot room into the daily grind.

I just have to say first that I am SPOILED at BlueMoon. The instructors and the facility are better than anything I've seen, with so much individualized attention. I'm very thankful for all of the discipline and instruction I receive at BlueMoon. It keeps me focused in an otherwise unfocused environment.
-Mike Burns

I have found that I enjoy the intensity of the Bikram practice...it's so demanding that all I can focus on for 90 minutes is my breath. The heat helps me with flexibility and it is good for soothing my arthritic joints. I believe it's a great way to gain strength and flexibility to deepen my 6 year practice of yoga. Amy is an excellent teacher and I am always grateful for her instruction and insights into the poses. I am amazed at the diversity of my fellow students at the BlueMoon, people of all ages and all levels of fitness are represented and participating. I fit right in!
-John Bourzac

Blue Moon Yoga is the answer to my prayers! Due to finances, my tennis, horse-back riding and athletics disappeared, as did my athletic body. I tried home remedies but found it to difficult to be consisent. I needed a place to go, a place to belong.I walk through BlueMoon doors and I find myself amongst people who like myself, crave exercise. For me, it was love at first pose! So, I knew I was in for the long haul...it's awesome! I signed up for the 60 Day Challenge in 2007 as it was the promise that I could continue in this new and long awaited lifestyle recovery. I knew that this challenge would be the motivation I need to to really make a difference. The encouragement from Amy and fellow yogi's was priceless...everyone helped me to the finish line. I am very thankful to Amy for her intense teaching style and her commitment to helping us all reach our fitness goals.

I know that no matter what I've done the day before, I always cure myself with Bikram Yoga. It rejuvenates me...I think I've found the fountain of youth!
-Marco Sanchez

When I first started yoga I was suffering from a bad case of sciatica that had been developing for months with the pain getting worse. I figured the heat would help with my poor flexibility and pain for which I took prescription medication. After the third day, I already noticed changes: softer skin, better sleep and a little more energy.I was ready to sign up for the one-year membership and even became the student of the month! Fifteen months later I don't take any medication, have much less pain and a better outlook.
-Nick Howes

From the first day I was hooked. I have always been an intensely athletic guy--but hurt my shoulder playing softball, again playing football, and a hyperactive thyroid that was killed with a radioactive pill ! I love to play sports that are physical and challenging.what Bikram Yoga has helped me with my old injuries, I don't have to take thyroid hormones anymore and my weight is normal.
-Marco Sanchez

As a couple, it is great practicing together because we are not just doing it for ourselves, but we are doing it for each other to help us be fit as we get older. Candace: Having never exercised, I feel more in shape than ever, and am getting relief from my aches and pains. Frank: Being an ex-marine with a history of back surgery with titanium screws, the yoga has given me the strength in my legs and increased my stamina to where I was 10-15 years ago on the tennis court. We are inspired and energized by the people coming to class and going through a tough, sweaty 90 minutes. You can't help but admire everyone who puts in that kind of time and effort and we hope to continue practicing for a long time making BlueMoon Yoga a permanent part of our lives.
-Candace and Frank Johnson

My favorite unanticipated benefit of Bikram Yoga is enhanced mental toughness (I am a competitive cyclist), . In cycling, it's so easy to give in to the pain and settle for less than your absolute best...it's very much akin to giving in to the urge to sit out the dreaded Camel Pose instead of attacking it and actually trying to improve your form! Bikram Yoga has helped me exceed my cycling goals. Additionally, I now have 100% range of motion and strength in my shoulder, as I shattered it in four pieces a few months before I started yoga. The pain from the 12 screws and plate is 100% GONE after 3 months of yoga! Amy's skilled teachings adds to developing this mental toughness through her precise instruction, correcting even the slightest imperfection in one's posture.
-Greg Eisner

What a fun class...I love the laughing and sense of humor amidst the challenging poses. It's so refreshing to have some lightness along the way!
-Bonnie Francis

When I started yoga, standing on one foot was impossible due to my severe degenerative arthritis. I currently have two partial shoulder replacements which include titanium arm bones. Thanks to yoga, I now have better balance, more mobility and strength than I did eight months ago. Thanks to yoga, I am able to sleep at night: the discipline has helped my quiet my mind and focus on the important things....my health and my family.
-Heather Peracchi

My practice at BlueMoon does so much more for me than make me feel good--I live better! Thank you for sharing your passion. Thank you for your dedication to teaching, the anatomy/physiology lessons, the one-on-one instruction, and physical adjustments. I learn something from you each and every class. Your sense of humor is a refreshing reminder that yes, this is just yoga, and yes, we can do anything for 10 seconds!
-Maria Melambianakis

I want to tell you that I never would have imagined that I could fine a studio so clean and instruction so thorough. You and your studio have given me hope that they do exist. You have spoiled me and I thank you for that.

Students of Amy - you are all so very lucky and blessed to have her. Amid her precise and some say "picky" cleanliness and thorough instruction know that she cares and wants only the best for her students. We have all had those teachers who have pushed us to our limit only to realize they had our best interest at heart. Amy is truly one of those "rare" teachers and I am so happy to have found her here in Fresno, my home town.
-Johanna Alandt

I have been athletic all my life and I deal with a lot of pain. Yoga helps me with this. For my sore, strained body, the heat is therapeutic and satisfying.
-Blair Campbell

I am a breast cancer survivor and had radical surgery. Medically, my yoga practice helps the surgical sites and scar tissue, moves lymphatic fluid and boosts my immune system. Emotionally, yoga also gives me the confidence to handle the hard things, helping my stress level. I believe that through my practice of yoga perhaps I will not develop cancer again. And if I do, it will be easier to handle and recover from.
-Mary Adams, RN

Yoga nourishes me physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I've been able to sweat out my stress and uncertainty and tap into my confidence and courage. I depart each class a more confident, healthier person. What a peaceful and compassionate world I have tapped into.
-Jasa Schumacher

I have found that yoga has improved my competitive running physically as well as mentally. Physically my body is able to endure the longer distances with stamina and with less stress to my muscles and joints. Mentally it has helped to have mind over matter. Since I started yoga four months ago, I've already broken two personal half marathon goals.
